It became a law when too many people kept getting caught with it at school or even by the police. It made things much more difficult for the school and cops to do their job and protect everyone if they have to deal with one person or a couple people about it. In the United States if the drug cartels are coming in and out of Mexico, the minimum wage keeps it running because people in the [U.S.] get money from working and keep buying more different and more expensive drugs. But if the minimum wage goes down, so would a lot of other laws that are keeping everything even and the laws staying together. ââ¬Å"Virtually the entire US illicit-drug market is controlled by seven Mexican cartels, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration s 2015 National Drug Threat Assessment Summaryâ⬠(Bender 1). In Mexico, the drug cartels are a big problem for the U.S. because when the cartel people get arrested they get sent up here so they canââ¬â¢t be broken out of jail. These transportations cost a lot of Americaââ¬â¢s money that we have to fund for. Joaquin ââ¬Å"El Chapoâ⬠Guzman is one of the biggest drug lord in all of Mexico. Mexico wants to send El Chapo up here to the U.S. so he can face the trial up here and go to jail here so he canââ¬â¢t be broken out again. This problem costs a lot of money that
Network and Security Tracer Network Simulator.
Question: Discuss about the Network and Security for Tracer Network Simulator. Answer: IDS, IPS, and HIPS IDS are used in the network diagram in between the client side and the internal network components. The IDS is attached with the HUB or Switch attached with a specified PORT address of the switch. The main function of the IDS is to track the suspicious activities taking place in the network; it identifies the traffic and data transmission in the network and identifies the vulnerability of the network towards the attack (Jesin 2014). The IDS can be used in between the switch0, switch1, switch2 and switch3, switch4, switch5, switch6 in the left side of the network and in between switch7, switch8, switch9 and switch10, switch11, switch12, switch 13. IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) is the next level of IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and has the capability of securing all the levels such as the operating system used or the data packets in the network. It consists of the policies that are used with the IDS which alert the network administrator about any suspicious activities but the administrator can take action depending on the type of attack (Prasad et al. 2016). Since the IPS has all the features of IDS it is considered as the next level of IDS and it can be used in the place of IDS i.e. between the client and the internal network components. In the given network diagram it can replace the IDS or it can be placed along with the IDS to provide better security in between switch0, switch1, switch2 and switch3, switch4, switch5, switch6 in the left side of the network and in between switch7, switch8, switch9 and switch10, switch11, switch12, switch 13. HIPS (Host-based Intrusion Prevention System) is used to protect the servers and workstations of the network. It uses the application software of the system and configures it identify the rules used for protection against any intrusion attacks (Lin 2012). The HIPS catches any suspicious activity occurring on the network and checks the rules set for any intrusion attack and either block or allows depending on the rules (Santos and Stuppi 2015). Thus in the given network diagram the HIPS can be placed in between the servers and the switch connecting the servers i.e. in between the switch0 and server 2 and server3 and server1 and server0 and switch7. This would protect the servers from any intrusion attacks. In the given network diagram static IP is assigned to all the end devices and the servers are configured as a DHCP server. The client end switches and the other switches in the network are protected with password cisco, such that the client cannot reach the router and the other network components. PC0, PC1, PC2, PC3 can communicate between PC10, PC11, PC12, PC13 since they are connected with the router0. PC4, PC5, PC6, PC7 can communicate with the PC8, PC9, PC14, PC15 and they are connected with the router1. The LANs are designed to protect against layer 2 attack, for this type of protection the concept of vlan is used. References Jesin, A., 2014.Packet Tracer Network Simulator. Packt Publishing Ltd. At the time I was only nine, but from being the oldest child I was cautious of the problems and I was the only one my mother could lean to for a shoulder to cry on while my siblings were sound asleep. This was much of a daily thing for me and all I wanted to wake up to was a peaceful morning, two pancakes, some orange juice, and a shout of ââ¬Å"good morningâ⬠from my mother who for once carried a real smile. When to Punctuate Titles in Italics or Quotes
When to Punctuate Titles in Italics or Quotes You may have wondered in the middle of typing up a research project: do I italicizeà a song title? What about a painting?ââ¬â¹ Even the most experienced writers have a problem remembering the proper punctuation for certain types of titles. Books are italicized (or underlined) and articles are put in quotation marks. Thats about as far as many people can remember.ââ¬â¹ There is a trick to remembering how to treat titles, and it works well enough that you can commit most types of titles to memory. Its the big and little trick. Big things and things that can stand on their own, like books, are italicized. Little things that are dependent or that come as part of a group, like chapters, are put into quotation marks. For example, you can think of a CD or an album as a major (big) work that can be divided into smaller parts, or songs. The individual song names (small part) are punctuated with quotation marks. For example: The Sweet Escape, by Gwen Stefani, includes the song Wind It Up. While this is not a perfect rule, it can be helpful for determining whether to italicize or surround in quotation marks when you have no resources at hand. Furthermore, you should italicize or underline any published collection, like a book of poetry. Put the individual entry, like a poem, in quotation marks. However: a long, epic poem that is often published on its own would be treated like a book. The Odyssey is one example. Punctuating Titles of Works of Art Creating a work of art is an enormous task, isnt it? For that reason, you can think of art as a big accomplishment. Okay, that might sound corny, but it will help you remember! Individual works of art like paintings and sculptures are underlined or italicized: Michelangelos DavidMona LisaThe Last SupperThe Pieta Note: A photograph, although not less significant or important, is often much smaller than a work of created art, and is placed in quotation marks. Following are guidelines for punctuating titles according to Modern Language Association (MLA) standards. Criminal Profiling Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Criminal Profiling - Essay Example The due process model, however, focuses on rights and freedoms of suspects and in delaying the suspects apprehension, threatens the criminal justice systemââ¬â¢s objectives of ensuring law and order and rights and freedom of majority of members of the society who are susceptible to criminal victimization (Packer 153- 172). Threat of terror identifies the need for profiling but provisions of constitutional amendments preclude law enforcement from focusing investigations on groups of people. The Fifth Amendment establishes the need for due process before initiatives by law enforcement officers, on U.S. citizens, and this means that arbitrary focus cannot be made on a group of citizens, despite their potential association with terror threats. The fourteenth amendment also protects fundamental rights from arbitrary laws and this means that it precludes any authority that law enforcement officers can operate on during profiling (Kaplan 30). Ethical consideration would however inform my balancing between interest of safety and security and securing rights and civil liabilities of citizens. Rights and freedoms always conflict and are the cause safety and security concerns to require focus on safety and security. In addition, rights and freedom of criminals, who are a few members of the society, contravenes r ights and freedoms of other individuals. Consequently, focusing on safety and security extends to ensure rights and freedom of a majority to establish a good

Capital Structure and Leverage Practices Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Capital Structure and Leverage Practices - Essay Example The family dollar company is basically a chain of stores that offer different assorted products such as clothing, food, and other supplies that a common family needs. This fact about the company's standing as a proper resource of practical items that is needed by the common family gives it a bit of an edge in making specific name in the market. Refinements and Growth. Refinements have been made through the years but its marketing edge remains to be meeting the needs of its customers for good quality but low cost merchandise (Family Dollar). The company basically thrived within a basic improved growth during the 1980's but gradually the growth slowed down during the 1900's when particular retail store brands already entered the arena of modern business industries such as that of Wal-Mart. "Over the years, Family Dollar has matured into a highly sophisticated retailer while staying true to its roots. An efficient distribution system, astute management and adoption of new technology and systems have enabled Family Dollar to keep up its industry-leading metrics in new store sales productivity, return on invested capital and comparable-store sales" (http://findarticles.com) Today, although the Family Dollar company remains to be within the competition, it is surely in need of improving its ways to keep up with what other competitor organizations put up for the establishment of a better standing in the industry of international retailing. The company now belongs to the Fortune 400 and S&P 500. THE COMPANY'S CAPITAL STRUCTURE AND LEVERAGE PRACTICES During the 1970's it could be seen how the stock shares of the company grew to a level of competitive stand within the stock market. This was the time when it went public for at least $14.50 per share. From this particular standing, the business began to grow towards prosperity and increased rate of profits in an annual basis. As the business grew towards a more inquisitive sense of market control, the ways by which the business have seen their practical position in the industry as a particular competitive organization in the field of retail marketing and product distribution. The CEO's that come and go in the company have effectively managed the capital of the business. However, because of the preserved views towards earning more through establishing more branches, the balance of seeing matters clearly have placed the Family Dollar in quite a stable yet non-moving position in the industry as larger organizations come into the scene. This is the reason why there is a need to shift the focus from profit to customer satisfaction considerations. "Despite being the underdog in sales and store count, Family Dollar is still the favored stock of many analysts due to a strong growth outlook and best-in-class financial metrics that give it an edge over Dollar General" (http://findarticles.com) The company seems comfortable going public as it constantly declares dividends while also actively looking for investment opportunities. The company gives quarterly dividends to its investors and has specifically reported an 8% increase in dividends at the start of 2009. Recently, Family Dollar Company was reported to make a presentation "to the investment community at Barclays Capital Retail and Restaurants Conference" (Family Dollar). ANALYSIS OF THE COMPANY'S CAPI
